Carlos Vigil, Beryl Zimmerman & Esther-Marie Nagiel Esther-Marie Nagiel and Katrina Will Director Esther-Marie Nagiel served as Interim Director February 2006 until January 2008 when she was appointed permanent director. She served as a dean at Camp Stoney for six years before her employment at the camp. Daniel Cave at the archery range Maria Benson and Beryl Zimmerman Joel Hansen presents the art of chocolate making Diocesan Youth Minister The Rev. Daniel was ordained a priest at camp in July 2007. On the off-season, he serves as Diocesan Youth Minister for the Rio Grande, and priest in charge at St. Paul's in Truth or Consequences. Daniel acts as program director during summer camp, and he and his wife Jane are always the life of the party. Facilities Manager Carlos Vigil, Camp Stoney's Facilities Manager, has been at Stoney since Summer 2002. Carlos is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the buildings and camp grounds. With over 200 acres and fourteen buildings to care for, this is no small task. He also monitors the infrastructure of the facility, particularly the water treatment system and swimming pool. Originally from Las Vegas, New Mexico, Carlos enjoys hunting and fishing in his free time. Camp Stoney is in great shape thanks to the care and dedication of our talented Facilities Manager. Thank you, Carlos! Director's Assistant Beryl Zimmerman (on right in photo) stepped in to manage the kitchen this summer, bringing her to full-time status. An employee at Camp Stoney since fall of 2006, Beryl brings her experience from working for Zanios foods and years of children's ministry to her job. She helps wherever we need her including cleaning, office work, kitchen duty, and hand holding. She is a huge asset to our staff. Chef in Residence Joel Hansen is both a former camper and life long resident of Santa Fe. In this photo, he is teaching the art of making chocolate to the Arts and Crafts camp this summer. He started as a summer cook, and didn't leave. We are so lucky to have him! |
